Package or tools that can auto add things to packages, like what usethis does?

The R package usethis has some super useful functions like use_badge() to add badges to the README file, or use_tidy_description() which tidies up the R equivalent of the pyproject.toml file. Something like that would be useful for, e.g., adding Ruff metadata to the pyproject rather than have it as a stand alone file. That way we could reduce the number of config files we have in each repo.
