[bug]: Issue templates using [ ] are used by GitHub for tracking task completion #27

Steps to reproduce

Creating an Issue that has the "agree to code of conduct" sets a "[x]" in the Issue comment. GitHub uses the [ ] to list actions and tasks completed.

Expected result

The [ ] shouldn't be used in Issues, because of the way GitHub uses them.

Actual result (the bug)

So maybe instead of the [ ] we can say "By creating this issue, you agree to follow the code of conduct (link here)" or something similar. A "participation is agreement" default setting.

@lwjohnst86 was this issue solely about removing the code of conduct checkbox or more generally on using the boxes in our issue templates?
