Once in the main menu, the game freezes and crashes in 8 seconds

I did all the steps correctly and tried all of the methods of how to fix it if the game crashes.
does anyone have the same issue and if you were able to fix it, how?

Also, its my first time doing l4d2 vr.

Maybe try this one too: I set the left4dead2 exe file as admin and in compatibility mode - had to do so with portal 2 as well. Otherwise it would crash at launch. Just in case You are still looking for a solution.
