There must be a way to easier implement timestamps across posts and custom post types.

For example: using the WP-CLI, specify the post_status, post_type, and post_ids that from which to generate timestamps.

Describe alternatives you've considered
At the moment, it can only be done by writing a manual PHP script taking inspiration from the code itself.
