Let's not do this. This doesn't solve a problem, may cause cascading problems in local dev test environments, & as of today, it isn't even out of prerelease. I'd much rather not waste time on this.

It's a placeholder because eventually (even if years from now) we will have to upgrade in which case any other blockers would be in linked issues. It's here to track work, not say "let's do it now."
