(To be used during the Sardana Bug Squashing Party as an exemplary issue)

Currently one needs to do either of this:

In [3]: sardana.release.version
Out[3]: '3.1.2-alpha'

In [4]: sardana.Release.version
Out[4]: '3.1.2-alpha'

More a more standard way would be appreciated.
