ACT - 'reading' files never loads #350

I have previously used ACT successfully, so I'm not sure what has changed, but now trying to open files just leaves me hanging on 'reading...' OK (see attached image). I've already upped the amount of memory allocated, so I don't think it's a problem with that.

Can anyone help!
