Once the feature is available in samba the samba-container commands such as join and/or must-join can be updated to work with the ODJ files rather than just usernames & passwords stored in json files.

Update: ODJ has gone upstream and is available in all Samba 4.15 releases (e.g. on Fedora 35) as "net offlinejoin".
