TODO:
- update the color scheme (for the overall interface, word cloud, and the sankey visualization) and in general, the entire look/feel
- redesign panel layout

**BUGS**
- Some edges aren't easy to click change the minimum width?
- fix the loading image/screen so that it shows while the visualization is loading -- this is an issue with order of execution. i haven't figured out how to force this order. related: force order in view_all click method.

**INTERACTION**
- Change data selection menus to be populated from a folder.
- possible filters: filter topics by size.... edges by similarity. date filtering -- use d3's crossfilter?

**SANKEY VIZ** (POSTPONE until SteamGraph is done)
***Sana - make all node reflect count size
- Need the similarity map changed to fit new size/weight options (not necessarily)
- Decide how to sort on the y-axis. (keep the same for now)
- Figure out good values for size and color. (done)
- Highlight the selected node or edge in the visualization
- Hover on edge or node highlights all paths in and out
- add a legend (node size with count ranges, link widths with similarity rating)
- Make the visualization resizable/fit the entire pane it's in (alternatively: set min-width on middle pane -- that is what it does now. is this good enough?)
- how to set width based on current screen size?
- have x-axis labels show time range under each bin instead of just start time

**TOPIC COMPARISON**
- use text style to show high probability vs. low probability words or a better visualization for this data - any cool viz ideas for this?  bar chart, venn diagram?
- make style match rest of interface
- show entire list on hover (instead of click)

**TOPIC LIST/TWEET LIST**
- highight the search words in the topics 
- Allow multiple words for search? (pass in array of terms, instead of just a term)
- make @ tags link to twitter

**WORD BAR CHART**
- if user hovers over the word cloud, highlight the words in the tweets? (lets not bother)
- make words clickable

**TWEET CARD/TOPIC CARD**

DONE:
- Add "splash" screen - on page load, give prompt to select a data set.
- Display date/time ranges on the x-axis.
- Removed lag from the interface

- show the top words for the topic sorted in descending order
- highlight the top words that have a probability above the mean 
- list the top tweets in order when a topic is clicked
- list the top topics in order when a tweet is clicked
- fixed bug when a user clicks a topic in the visualization that is not being shown in the topic list
- fix the date/time labeling (the times showing up do not match the tweet times)
- add x-axis label
- fixed bug where nodes too close to axis aren't clickable
- Label x-axis (need to give the overall date ranges if it's only showing hours/minutes)
- Add context to titles (if filters by topic, say which topic; add which dataset is in use at top; add time range above graph; which topic for word cloud)
- Controls to undo filters... (maybe just add "View All" links to the headers? this would probably suffice)
- Hover on node displays topic name. Hover on edge displays two topic names.
- Make switch data layout a button that brings up the splash again
- Text comparison hover box.
- make topic selection scrolling less moving - this was due to animation, I sped it up - better?
