Transmitter standby via GPIO and buffer/queue

Hi, is possible to implement a standby status forced via GPIO (input) and a buffer to queue all message for transmit them when the standby status is off?

This is very usefull for reuse existing analog repeaters as DAPNET transmitters.
To complete it would be necessay implement one signal out via GPIO, about one second before every transmission, for change the frequency (channel) of the reperter’s transmitter.
