Flex rich text field issues

First thing I noticed is you can't select with mouse.
This appears to be the same as this issue:
#14996
(Not sure if Flex uses the same UI controls)

Additionally, I am unable to make text bold or italic.

Expected behavior

I can select text with the mouse (click and drag, double click, etc.)

Additionally, I am unable to make text bold or italic.

Can you elaborate on that? What actions do you expect to make the text bold or italic? I just noticed that I should select the RichTextEditor element.

Update: it's now possible to select text. Making the text bold/italic doesn't work yet
