Feature Request:Legend

This is an very useful widget and we are using it for a lot of displays. But the limitation on the legend x axis of not displaying a name is hurting us. We use this for a number of other plot types in which the x axis is not a date. For example, it's excellent for displaying FTIR data where the x axis is a wavenumber. Any chance we can expand the functionality to other data types in the x axis and add the label to the legend block for the x axis?
