What features should we support for text displays? Do we keep it very simply, or de we include things like:
left/right alignment. Right alignment is commently used for numbers.
top/bottom alignment (?)
scrolling/paging, in case you write more text than can displayed
bold
An example of a bus display:

[Ishøj St. ]
If the font is fixed, with, you can write '13' at the right by sending the right string.
But if the font is variable, width, you need some sort of right alignment support, and a way to indicate different parts or the text (think float right in html). A few ideas:
