Beyond just showing the telemetry data of the printer being shown in real-time, the printer app has a few convenience and safety features.
First and foremost, the initial configuration must be set for the app’s telemetry data and livestream to be shown and operations to be accessible. The configuration is attached and should be set up throughout the printers tab. This process is also further documented in the feature descriptions below if needed.
Configuration/Credentials for Printer (needed to see actual data live):
Printer Name (only reflected in app): Roshan’s 3D Printer
Printer Host: https://3dprint.roshanravi.com
API Key: [REDACTED]
Camera Host: https://3dprint.roshanravi.com/webcam/?action=stream
Basic Authentication: Switched On
Username: printAnywhere
Password: [REDACTED]
The app’s user interface consists of the following features:
* Adding printer configurations:
* This can be done be clicking the plus sign in the top right on the printers tab. The credentials will then be requested. Tapping done will create the new configuration or the edits can be canceled.
* Editing printer configurations
* Clicking on an existing device in the printers tab should take you back to the printer configuration page. Tapping done will change the current configuration or the edits can be canceled.
* Deleting Printer configurations
* If there are at least two printer configurations, the traditional swipe-to-delete will work in the printer tab's table view.
* Selecting the current printer configuration
* When in the printer configuration page, the “select printer’ button at the bottom will make it the current printer for the app to use
* Selecting & Printing a File
* After choosing a model in the files tab, there is a print button. Clicking that will immediately send the request to the printer and the results can be seen via the livestream.
* Stopping/pausing a print
* In the control tab, there are options to either pause/stop the print. However, please note that once those are clicked, there is no option to re-enable the printer. This design choice was made for safety as such a concern would be the primary reason for remote disabling of the printer.
