unix_chkpwd empty path

When logging into a text virtual terminal, I get the following log messages:

I'm not sure what unix_chkpwd needs.

I would rather avoid adding this flag to such a core profile (it is part of the authentication abs). Can you give me more context about the virtual terminal and system you logged in into that raised this log?

This will be logged when using qterminal in lxqt or konsole in Plasma session in Arch Linux
