Support robotframework 7 #149
Comments
Wowl 😅 The first thing would be to just test that the old stuff works. And even 6.x support release is still RC, because I have not had time to find and fix issue with ipywidgets support (keyword buttons). Yet, Rococorp Lab was discontinued, also Robocorp Automation Studio, with funding for XeusRobot, and their whole robotframework support is in maintenance mode, because they chose to focus on python because its support in LLMs. Are ipythonrobotframework, RobotKernel and RobotLab the only ones left 😳 Neither I have no idea of all the development in JupyterLab or JupyterLite (even I am using them at least weekly). |
No worries, my friend! We can still have fun making and using useful, open source software, even if the corporate overlords have moved on to shinier, newer things. I can also take a look at the widget stuff... but perhaps it's even worth considering making that an optional plugin that can focus more fully on that specific feature. Regarding RobotLab: I would love to re-visit an updated distribution, provided we can get all the moving pieces back up. |
Just disabling keyword buttons (e.g. with an environment variable flag) until they work again, sounds like a good idea. |
Hooray,
robotframework 7
is released 🤖 🎉!It would be lovely to kick the tires here to see what can be done to support some of the new features.
