Themes don't apply correctly, can't reinstall uxstyle

My themes no longer apply correctly. Windows Update might have something to do with it.

I can't reinstall uxstyle, this is the uninstall log:

Maybe the unsinstall is incomplete, breaks uxstyle and further reinstall attempts?

Clicked close by accident

It seems I had remenants of UXTheme Multi-Patcher (Task Maneger - Startup). I have cleaned it up in regedit. Maybe unrelated

Still have the same uxstyle issues.

Sounds like your previous uxstyle install is broken. What do 'sc query UnsignedThemes' and 'sc query uxpatch' produce?

So your machine doesn't have UxStyle installed now right? Can you try installing and provide that log? All you've provided were uninstall logs.

Because that is what happens when I try to install uxstyle. For wharever reason the unistalll procedure is started and it fails.

Same situation, broken after updates, but managed to fix it::

I had to go into registry and delete the UxStyle entries, and double check unsignedthemes was deleted out of C:\Windows

Perhaps give it a whirl. My error log was very similar.

After deleting entries in regedit I managed to install uxstyle, but I'm having a previous problem now:
Themes do not apply correcltly.

Ran sc query uxpatch:

UnsignedThemes wouldn't start without the driver. The driver entry in the registry is now uxstyle, not uxpatch. So I suspect this is a msstyle issue.

Hi all, i have kinda similar situation, i already tried :
sc delete uxstyle
sc delete UnsignedThemes
sc query UnsignedThemes
sc query uxpatch

all give me non existent process. What reg keys do you guys deleted? Just to give it a try

I searched for uxstyle with RegEdit and deleted any entries I came across.

Thanks, in the meantime i restored a restore point and uxstyle returned to work normally so i simply abandoned the idea of the reinstallation but good to know
