Could you elaborate on what you're seeing?

At least on my end, hitting ctrl+L does the equivalent of typing clear at the prompt, which is expected behavior.

At my end (chrome latest stable build) ctrl+L clears the screen, as well.

However, while clear empties the shell and places the prompt at the top line, ctrl+L (I think) writes in ~50 new blank lines so as to push content out of the screen.

Thus, the prompt is pushed out of my view, as well. I need to scroll up a couple lines to get it in my view.

Maybe you scaled the size of the terminal to be less than the ~50 lines ctrl+L expects?
