... when I get to the point of "running" it in "Android Studio" (chipmunk) it just tries to run on a pixel phone emulator. I DO have my Theta X plugged into my Mac Book Pro. Things seemed to be working in the dev-app up to that point, at least git-cloning the project and pointing Android-Studio to the repo dir, then it seems to load OK, and the contents of the files matched what was being asked about on the README page.
Anyway, any help to get me going, will be much appreciated. I'm stuck.

I am very sorry for missing your post. If you are still facing some trouble, could you tell us a little more detail ?
To develop THETA X plugin with Android Studio, your THETA X needs to set to "developer mode" first. Then, MacOS or Windows machine can recognize THETA X as ADB (Android Debug Bridge) device. So you can run / debug plugin with Android Studio like following.
