As suggested by @s-j-mc

Would it ever be useful/possible to include a plot that is anchored to the end of the reads too? Similar to how it is done in NanoQC (https://github.com/wdecoster/nanoQC) (https://gigabaseorgigabyte.wordpress.com/2017/06/15/per-base-sequence-content-and-quality-end-of-reads/). I'm not sure how much value there is in this though!

A lot of value. Wouter de Coster has some excellent ideas.
