This is UI/User Experience feedback from based on my experience with the player.
Experience 1:
Locating "add to playlist feature" was not intuitive. When selecting a song, my expectations would be to see an "add to playlist" or icon representing "add to playlist" in the song menu bar item. Selecting the "..." button was not intuitive.
Experience 2:
When first adding a song to play lists, I expect the UI to inform me I did not have any playlists. Instead the modal placed the song title as the name of the playlist, and button that said create play list. I was unsure if that was the textbox for adding a song, or the title of the play list. I would expect it to say "New Playlist 1" or other placeholder text.
Experience 3:
After having previously added added plays lists. I expected to be presented with a dropdown menu of playlists I could add the song too, and that would be the most prominent element of the modal box. Instead, the most prominent feature of the UI was the create new playlist, and below that was an unexpected series of check boxes to add to play list.
The playlists were named after the title of the first song, from when I created the playlist (I left the default option). I felt uneasy about adding a song into 'another song' which is actually a play list named after a song.
Experience 4:
When trying to locate my playlist, I was having trouble figuring out how to get there. I looked at all the menu items and didn't see them. I clicked the learn drop down, then the user icon drop down, then eventually clicked library.
My recommendation for making this an intuitive control would be:
Have a visible and intuitive Add to play list icon, with mouse over text of "add to playlist"
If no playlists are available, have a message in the modal saying "You don't seem to have any playlists, would you like to create one?"
Have the default text for the playlist be "New Playlist X" where X is the lowest number where a playlist doesn't exist.
Use a dropdown menu for selecting which playlist to add a song to. Have this component as the primary focus. Have the create new playlist button as secondary element below.
Change the "library" menu item to be a drop down menu containing "Favorites, playlist, collections, history"
The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered:
Operating system
Windows 10
Browser name and version
google Chrome
