probably this isn't super-straightforward, since we'll want to support both existing refund output and also stuff coming from refundr.

one immediate thing -- internally, we can probably remove anything that uses as_refundObj, which was sort of a short-term solution to needing to put matrices into long dataframe format for plotting.
