Dan Hammer is a founding member of REDD Metrics, specializing in spatial statistics and natural resource economics. Dan graduated from Swarthmore College with high honors in economics and mathematics. He was a Lang Scholar and a Watson Fellow, and he passed the swim test with the grace of a cuttlefish. Dan is now a Research Fellow at the World Resources Institute, working toward a Master's degree in geospatial information sciences at the University of Maryland, along with a Masters in Statistics and a PhD in resource economics at UC Berkeley.

<p><FONT COLOR="#a00">Darius Nassiry</FONT> is a founding member of REDD Metrics. He is a visiting fellow at the Center for Global Development and previously served as a Director at the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), where he led teams responsible for investment programs in Asia and launched MCC’s climate change initiative. His prior experience includes investment banking positions in New York, London and Tokyo and as a Foreign Service Officer in Mexico and Kenya. He graduated from Carleton College and received a Masters in Public Affairs degree from Princeton University.

<p><FONT COLOR="#a00">Robin Kraft</FONT> is a founding member of REDD Metrics, specializing in spatial data processing and analysis in the cloud. He is a Research Associate at World Resources Institute, and has consulted at the World Bank and Resources for the Future since leaving the Center for Global Development in 2010. In a previous professional life Robin was a travel writer in France and music magazine editor in San Francisco. He got his Masters in development economics at Sciences Po in Paris, a Masters in Geography at the University of Maryland, and a BA in history at UC Berkeley.

<p><FONT COLOR="#a00">Sam Ritchie</FONT> is a founding member and lead developer at REDD Metrics, where he explores the mysteries of large scale data analysis. Sam graduated from Princeton University in 2009 with a degree in mechanical and aerospace engineering; he spent a year on the Partnerships team of TED Conferences, LLC before moving on to pursue software design full time. He is currently an engineer at Twitter, working on a realtime, distributed data processing tool called Storm.</p>

<p><FONT COLOR="#a00">Aaron Steele</FONT> is the technical lead at REDD Metrics and an Information Architect at UC Berkeley. He enjoys reading self-introductions written in the third person, and has worked on an array of projects that bring coding cool to bioinformatics, including <a href="http://www.vertnet.org">VertNet</a> and <a href="http://www.mappinglife.org">Map of Life</a>. He graduated with a degree in Computer Science from UC Berkeley, and specializes in web architecture for large-scale spatial data. His kid is better than your kid. And his wife runs faster than he does.</p>
