Lisp files not loading into project

This is probably a pretty simple issue I am failing to find a fix for. I have added a lisp file to the runtime system with some function definitions. After I save and reload the project, None of these functions are available to the project, but the file and its code is there + it is set as a file needed in the asdf system. What am I missing? Thanks!
