The correct way to replace custom annotation on JaxRS interface class?

Hi,

I'm trying to replace a couple of annotations in interface classes, which my JaxRS resources implement.
I'm trying to do that in my custom extension.

Here is a code snippet:

This code in AnnotationTransformation.transform is being invoked, and AnnotationsTransformerBuildItem is produced, but when I check annotations with reflection during the integration test, the annotation is not "replaced."

Maybe I missed something obvious or trying the impossible.
