What maintenance needs to be done?

Upgrade or consider alternatives to the lightly gem

Level of urgency

  • High
  • Moderate

Why is this maintenance needed?

We are using a release of this gem from 2017. There has been a release as recently as this year, but it contains breaking changes that cause some tests related to the figgy ark cache to fail. Also, since there has not yet been a 1.0 release of lightly, its API may have more breaking changes at any time.

Acceptance criteria

  • We don't rely on a very old lightly release

There are some open questions about the figgy ark cache that we should answer before this ticket: #1720 and #505
