hello everyone, i wanted to request something that hopefully can be put into a future update, the 'first' mew distribution event (MARIO)
i was wondering if its possible to add it into PKHeX, as right now its listing the mew as illegal, can anyone do this? thankyou for your help!
https://projectpokemon.org/home/forums/topic/48662-1998-nintendo-power-mario-mew-distribution/
https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/List_of_European_language_event_Pok%C3%A9mon_distributions_(Generation_I)#U.S._Toys_.22R.22_Us_Mew
as this is the first mew, it would be awesome to add it in a future update!

cc @kwsch on Gen 1 being checked in PKHEX. We have a MARIO Mew. All Mew after the second Japanese distribution have the same fixed IVs, any TID, and appropriate name.
Not sure how much you care to add support for validating it.

am seeking an equivalent of the gen4+ serialized gift data templates; I'm not going to hardcode anything more than is currently hardcoded.

If the community builds an excel sheet, then we can design a serialized format. Best to know all the variations to consider prior to coming up with a serialization.

@kwsch is there anything I can do to help, I would really appreciate it being added into a future update, im not very good with editing i leave it to you (the pros) lol but i think the only difference with the (MARIO) mew is the OT - 'MARIO' but its a special mew as its the first English mew to be distributed, which is pretty cool, plus its MARIO :)

Was there ever any progress on this? I'm taking a look at all of the Gen 1 Mews in PKHeX at the moment, and they show as both unable to match an encounter from origin game, and fateful encounter with no matching encounter.

Nope, no progress.

Why does the commit which added Poké Tour North America reference Toys R Us Mew? Those two events were completely separate.

Further, the only tour to ever go by that name was in Australia. The tour that took place in North America was the Pokémon League Nintendo Training Tour.

It was actually used in multiple events, and these pokemon could have came from any of them. A PR to rename the folder is appreciated, or I'll get to it when I have some time.

Thanks!

So it's really all the same Mew? Wish we knew what IDs came from where, then they could possibly be separated.
Should the new name reflect all of the possible events or just the name for that NA tour?

I don't mind either way. We can name it with all of them. Regarding knowing which one came from where, we don't know, and there is no way to verify that anyway.

I've found quite a few that either must be one specific event based on the OT or could be any one of a subset of two, etc.
(at least according to Bulbapedia)

How should the naming convention be for that?
For example: Could we use "N64 Ultimate Gamers Tour or U.S. Toys R Us" as a folder name to contain these particular instances? There are others but perhaps it may be best handled case by case after submitting a PR?

EDIT: Please see #447
