There is warning (red highlight using css) for balance sheet and ledger statement if the ledger has negative balance. But that is not visible in the dashboard and other places. IF a ledger has negative balance, how can I highlight that in every place that particular ledger is shown?

You see a warning on negative balance in the balance sheet debit accounts to highlight an error in a transaction you have recorded or to show, on the balance sheet, that an account is contrary to its nature. Let's have a look at this example:
The petty cash has zero balance, and still, you want to record a payment of $1,000 from the petty cash account. You recorded the following journal entry:

Dr. General and administrative expenses $1,000
      Cr. Petty cash $1,000

The petty cash has zero balance, and you credited the petty cash account by $1,000, making it a liability account rather than an asset account. The software flags the petty cash account and requires that you correct the entry. The ledger will not be useful in such circumstances, but the balance sheet (and trial balance) would be.
