Meet a bug when trying to use hard link

Steps of trying to use hard link:

So there is my storage, i have lazer in Appdata and osu! in C:\Games\osu!
Also osu is taking over the whole 1T driver, there is literally nothing else( these folders are sorted by size)

And is got 260GB left that means it is not using hard link?

My driver is using NTFS file system

I was using "Run setup wizard" to import songs from stable for the whole time, so something like this happened, the thing is, I wanna keep my Collections and scores on lazer, because I play lazer more often; also I wanna use hard link so I won't use double spaces for songs, I do play stable and McOsu for sometimes, can anyone help me? qwq

I'm sorry but I don't really understand what you are trying to do here. The typical way of "using hard links" is like this:

1. install lazer
2. go to setup wizard
3. next to the import step and click "import content from previous version"

If certain conditions are met (NTFS and your lazer and stable stay on the same drive) the import will automatically use hard links, with a message like "Data migration will use hard links. No extra disk space will be used...".
What you did in first two images is moving the lazer data folder to a different place, which has nothing to do with stable or hard links.

For you last two images, the occupied space on C: is 929-260=669G as reported by Windows, and the other software says "718.8G" as some number related to C: which I assume is the total size of all files. So it's likely that "the other software" does not recognize certain space-saving filesystem features, which may include hard links. So I would not believe too much in its numbers.

I found the powershell method working and it does not require extra software.

If you delete all beatmaps from settings, it won't delete scores or collections. So you could try a re-import. Pay attention on the first run wizard – it will tell you if it can use hard links.

Also backup your client.realm before doing this, just in case.

Thanks! It's solved, and I used to have 21500 maps and now I just have like 20000, because I downloaded some map in lazer bowser before, how do I get them back by checking client.realm?

if it is too complicated im just okay with dropping these 1500 maps.
