The marketing team noticed this problem existed in 2020, so it might have happened during the 4.3 -> 5 migration. @ericof briefly investigated then and is interested in troubleshooting during the upcoming Beethoven Sprint.
The marketing team could spend more time checking all the 2002 through ~2010 News Items and making a list of the ones that need fixing, if there is no programmatic way to identify them.
As for #168 - @fredvd It would be ideal if the old (pre-Volto migration) plone.org could be online during the Beethoven Sprint while people are working on this and other plone.org problems. @rioksane has suggested Marketing Team budget could be used to pay for the hosting expense.

We have observed this in News Items from 2002 through 2009 (at least). It looks like they are using something like
.rst
format. See for example:The marketing team noticed this problem existed in 2020, so it might have happened during the 4.3 -> 5 migration. @ericof briefly investigated then and is interested in troubleshooting during the upcoming Beethoven Sprint.
