Hey,

I am Morsalin from easy digital. I want to provide High Availability Cloud Hosting services with Kubernetes,
Plesk Docker. Is it possible to do?

Hello, @morsalin1342
Unfortunately, plesk for docker not intended for production use, but only for demonstration purposes of UI and API. Production use of docker can be achieved in future, but nobody can get an accurate prediction about time.

So what is the status on stability now?

@outdoorsman, unfortunately there is no update on status of dockerized Plesk.
However can you please share your interest in running Plesk with k8s? I mean what is the planned usage of control panel within containers in cluster? I can think probably of a sidecar container for individual web site, running in a pod. But there are for sure other scenarios as well, each with different architecture.
Can you please share your opinion?

@Kooper I don't have enough experience with Kubernetes yet to weigh in with an opinion of value.

What I wasn't sure about on this particular GitHub project was I think that as far as I understand, there is only Docker available within a domain right? There is no Kubernetes support anywhere either within a domain our for the entire Plesk server itself?

What I'd really like is for the entire Plesk admin itself to be in k8s as well as the individual websites managed by it. However, the details of how services are split up in k8s is something I don't know personally as I'm current mostly using Docker for local development purposes, though I'm contracting for a University that we are moving toward k8s for their website, etc.

PS: If this feature were available we'd deploy in DigitalOcean's managed k8s but that's probably a side point.

@outdoorsman, ability to manage HA sites in K8s directly from Plesk (probably also running in cluster for availability) makes sense indeed. We are interested in supporting Kubernetes this way, however no status updates are available on the topic yet.

Your opinion is a valuable contribution to the ticket, thank you.

Thanks for the feedback @Kooper. I update my previous comment too as I saw it wasn't worded well.

So are you saying that the entire Plesk server would be in K8S then as well as client websites and all services? If so, that's exactly what I was hoping for. It doesn't make sense to have self-healing domains in pods just for customers but then be left with the Plesk admin and some services as the weak links.

No, I'm not yet saying anything like it would be that way :)
But it should for sure.

I am also interested, I see that google cloud platform has an option to install plesk in the market place, I have recently installed a 4 node kubernetes cluster using Rancher and found this thread when doing search for "Plesk Helm Chart". I would love to see a production ready deployment.

I'am very interested, whats up?

@infinityonlinesolutions

Yes, Plesk on K8s is now a need, reached this thread searching "plesk helm chart", would love to see that soon.
