As reported from Fedora:

  • do not use -Werror by default, since downstream compilers at different versions may warn for what we consider fine
  • do not install example_toplevel
  • Install desktop files at correct place (not always /usr/share)
  • Add icons for the desktop files.
  • Add appstream metadata file (https://freedesktop.org/software/appstream/docs/chap-Metadata.html)
