The default installation comes with an initial set of applications configured as launchers in the dock.

Ideally, these applications are referring to tools that are widely available -- terminal, web browser, ... .
As of 2024-10-28, the pre-configured launcher applications are Chrome (with the Wayland flags), Firefox (with the Wayland environment variable) and foot as a terminal.

Neither is eg. installed by default on Debian.
