Linux build segfaults a lot

I think we should have our own assert system (like PAWNCC_ASSERT() or something) so that these stay in release builds. Many libraries do this.

I'm not using YSI libraries here, but still fairly complex code with plenty of ALS overrides and other "fun stuff", the compiler works extremely well here (in fact surprisingly so, at least for me).

Could you post a minimal reproducible example please? Like a tiny script using a YSI include that breaks the compiler? FWIW @Y-Less seems very active here, so if his libraries broke the compiler, I'm sure he'd know firsthand.

Either way - if there's a compiler crash, it needs to be fixed. What about providing us with a backtrace or even the whole coredump? (ulimit -c unlimited to enable core dumps, trigger the crash, then gdb pawncc core (assuming the coredump is called core) to open pawncc along with the coredump, finally type bt to give us a backtrace).

I'd be happy to do the testing, provided a minimal example from the OP, and/or some sort of all-in-one example demonstrating YSI libs in general? That should be more or less guaranteed to trigger the bug I suppose.

EDIT: Oh and also, I'm building from source, not using the pre-built binaries from releases, which I think is what the OP is using?

@Cheaterman The title of this issue is kind of misleading, as you don't really have to use a Linux version of the compiler. If you have a Windows system, then you can just make a Windows build, but in Debug mode, in order for assertions to work (on Windows they're disabled in Release mode by default, but for some reason they're enabled on Linux and OS X, which is probably why the issue title has Linux in it).
