WHAT Needs to be Documented?

The docs say, that one can log in with the market app at our marketplace.
The docs don't say why one should log in.

There is also the API-Key, wich is undocumented.

WHY Should This Change Be Made?

Seems outdated.
I cannot find the login button shown in the screenshot any more. It seems tese buttons were removed.

Afaik, the situation is:

• For normal usage, no login is needed. All published contents (enterprise or not) are always available.
• Also, an API-Key is not needed for normal usage.
• For testing purposes, app developers may find the API-Key feature useful: Registering an API-Key allows the owncloud instance to access not-yet-publshed app-versions from the marketplace.
  • As a registered uploader at marketplace.owncloud.com, you find your personal API-Key in
    https://marketplace.owncloud.com/account/general
  • copy paste this into Market -> Settings API-Key
  • this allows you to test the upgrade behaviour of your app before publishing.
