How to show points only in day mode in custom stylesheet?

I am creating a custom style sheet and I would like to show points only in day mode and remove all the points in night mode.

I tried the following addition to the .xml style sheet

<point>
<case nightMode="true">
....
</case>
</point>

But when I tried to import the xml file it throws an error that it couldn't parse it.

What would be the correct code to achieve that?
