Weblate commit frequency?

I understand using weblate but it is flooding github with commits. Some days there are several commits with one change to one language file and it clearly says there are thousands more to complete. There will be tens of thousands of commits if every change is entered individually. I understand the need to add new items on demand but until the initial translation is complete can't the update frequency be reduced? Weekly at this point or some percentage complete like 10% so there are ten commits rather than 5000? At the current rate weblate will account for more commits than the entire project history.

If the intent is to squash the initial conversion then it makes sense but if it isn't then the result is going to be a mess.

I see only 1 setting Age of changes to commit 24 hours which is ok. I don't see how to filter commits by author unfortunately in Github view, however in git console it's pretty easy
