Ory Keto query performance depending on region

Can anyone explain how Ory Keto in Cloud works now.
What DB is used inside and what is the performance of regional queries i.e. from the USA and Europe to the same project?

Ory Network uses a hosted CockroachD cluster. We’re currently located in the EU. We’re working on our multiregion right now; targeted for 2023. That will give you low latency from anywhere on the globe.

We are an open-source startup https://github.com/webstudio-is and decided to use ory keto for authorization on our hosted env.
Having roundtrip delay querying from the US to the EU can be like 200ms+ for checks. In our case, I think we can use different region-specific ory projects as our data will also be distributed across regions.

If you will use cockroach global tables it's also ok for us as relation creation time is not that important for us.
I think (but I'm not any good in distributed systems) that the best if any solution will be deterministic, so in the case of non-global tables we can select/set the region we need for the tuples.
