When creating a schema, do you create the ID field?

First time user.

I'm creating a schema with surrealist.
Usually I have UUID as my ID type or bigint.

Does surrealdb take care of ID creation?
Do I have to create an ID field?
What type should it be, if I have to create it? Because I see some not int and not uuid type ID fields.
Is there a better way than surrealist to create the schema? I find it very cumbersome having to use an UI to create a schema, and prefer text.

In surrealdb you don't have to define an id field, surrealdb would take care if it.

and about Surrealist: you don't have to use it, you can do it using the cli or ws or http -it's just a sql queries- or you can build your own :)
