Investigation: Baremetal Orchestration, Deployment, and How SurrealDB can Enable Infrastructure Flexibility

Is your feature request related to a problem?

I believe due to cost mechanics, and privacy/data requirements due to ML/AI , self-hosting and hybrid deployments will become more common.

I am investigating something I call baremetal orchestration because I believe that WASI will make it possible to minimize network and host complexity due to CNI networking and Virtualization.

2 tools I think may be worth investigating for surrealdb - and subsequently determining how you may want to enable integration and documentation - are Nomad, and Nix. They may be of value in understanding relative to SurrealDB.

Describe the solution

Investigate Nomad due to flexibility in orchestration - not just containers by default.

Investigate installing and configuring SurrealDB through Nix Pkgs, or how it may work with Nix ecosystem.

Alternative methods

Investigate other tools that may enable baremetal orchestration that may be of value to surrealdb ecosystem.
