Microsoft Dapr ( https://github.com/dapr/dapr ), it does the abstraction of several things, such as pub/sub, state store, actors and etc...
One of the things I find interesting about this product is the ability to abstract the state-store... to change the database, just change a YML component....
About the state-store, the components that involve databases, there are several implementations, such as RethinkDB, Cassandra, CouchDb, pgSQl and so on...

Having the component in Dapr to access SurrealDb would be interesting, firstly, there would be a lot of people carrying out tests with the database and another, which can serve as a good advertisement!!
