We announced at the CSWG last week (7/22), that the migration was set to take place on 8/1. Further discussion pertaining to large-file storage has raised concerns which must be addressed before we can migrate slaclab into GHE. We will set a date once the LFS details are clarified. |

Our concerns regarding LFS have been addressed. The migration is planned for 10/16, a week from today. Please contact the CSWG membership above if you have concerns or experience issues on or after 10/16 or respond to this discussion. |

If you haven't heard already, SLAC IT has established a Github Enterprise instance for the lab to use.
The Controls Software Working Group (CSWG), TID, AD, and LCLS have been collaborating on a Github Enterprise plan for some time now. The next step is to move the slaclab organization into the SLAC Enterprise. This action will not intentionally change access or permissions settings for the repositories in slaclab and should not affect external collaboration.
This move has been practiced on another SLAC org., pcdshub. The move proceeded with a few issues which were resolved quickly. Since slaclab is significantly larger in terms of membership, and at least if not more complicated in terms of CI+automation the potential impact of this migration is larger.
In order to move forward we will use the next CSWG on 6/17 to discuss a date for moving slaclab into SLAC's enterprise. We want to do our best to minimize disruption and get this done in a short timeframe, so if you have concerns please reach out to your division’s CSWG representative or leave a message in this discussion. If your group does not have a regular attendee/ member of the CSWG, please reach out to Alex Wallace or Greg White.
CSWG membership by directorate/ division:
AD LFD: Greg White, Bryce T. Jacobson
AD EED: Michael Zelazny, Debbie Rogind
AD AOS: Matt Gibbs
TID: Ryan Herbst, Ernest Williams
LCLS: Alex Wallace, Robert Tang-Kong
AD ARD ML: Auralee Edelen
FPD: Please reach out to Alex Wallace or Ryan Herbst
We will post another notice when the date for the move is set.
