Skip Checkup fails

When I run skip checkup it fails with:

fatal: cannot use bare repository '/Users/timkoss/Library/Caches/org.swift.swiftpm/repositories/skip-ui-70145f7f' (safe.bareRepository is 'explicit')
skip checkup log.txt

Very odd! Are you able to clone the repository manually (e.g., with git clone https://source.skip.tools/skip-ui.git)?

It might just be a temporary network hiccup or proxy issue. If you trash your /Users/timkoss/Library/Caches/org.swift.swiftpm/repositories folder any try skip checkup again, do you see the same error?

Think I found the problem - this was in .gitconfig:

[safe]
bareRepository = explicit
directory = /private/var/folders/jn/cbdz2j_s1293_wgfz4pp4mph0000gp/T/013BB096-3B6B-47B3-94D7-A127C36E36F9/hello-skip/.build/repositories/skip-ui-70145f7f
directory = *

I removed that and got past that problem!

getting rid of the contents under [safe] in .gitconfig solved the problem!
