I'm thinking actually replacing the Revolt protocols with Matrix protocols. That would fix the problem of not enough manpower. You would no longer have to maintain your own protocol, since most of the work would be done by the Matrix people (you just add the Revolt bits). But I get why this is not an easy task and I'm not sure if Matrix solved the privacy problems. |

There’s an emerging protocol that Revolt folks may wanna take a closer look at: Polyproto. It’s modeled after Discord, so it should be a lot easier to implement than the likes of Matrix or ActivityPub. It'd fit perfectly with Revolt to implement the ActivityPub protocol, or perhaps the Matrix protocol, so that when people self-host it, they can federate (i.e. see each-other) across the various servers, for example chatting in the form of @[email protected] writing to a @[email protected] .
That would be cool.
