M1 OSX / Homebrew / Java runtime Errors. Worth targeting platform?

Context (me)

• New to Java / Inexperienced debugging Java envs
• Looking for "low-effort" ways to run / test toy examples of Presto syntax. Laptop / local seems to fit that case.
• Using a M1 / Apple Silicon / MP Air

Observed:

• M1 Air / the the Homebrew install method brew install presto seems to install fine, but has Runtime failures. See homebrew discussion #10152

Questions:

1. Sandbox: Should there be a 'sandbox' or 'playground' for presto with very strict limits, for testing / playing with syntax / toy examples?
2. Should M1 / Apple Silicon / ARM even be supported? If not, maybe throw an error earlier over at brew?
3. tech fix: Is there some different SDK that would work on M1
