I have (or should have) the commit bit for https://metacpan.org/pod/Devel::ptkdb. I made a whole bunch of changed 10 years ago, got the commit bit and then left it all behind a corporate firewall. Does it make sense to try and resurrect all that here in Perl IDE?

Interesting. I already have a repo I was planning on using as the canonical. I can chuck that for a fork of gitpan, but gitpan is read-only; we would still need a writable copy. I think we'd want to clone gitpan down and then upload it into the perl-ide space, making that the canonical copy. I (and anyone else interested) could fork that and submit PRs against it. I assume that if I add the repo to perl-ide I'd be the only one who could merge PRs at first?

I didn't realize you already have a copy of the repo, so what you already have may well be better than the GitPan repo, which is just a snapshot of different releases. It's a nice fallback if you don't have access to the original.

I think that the safest thing to do is to create an empty repo libdevel-ptkdb-perl in https://github.com/orgs/perl-ide and import whatever is in the tarball at https://cpan.metacpan.org/authors/id/A/AE/AEPAGE/Devel-ptkdb-1.1091.tar.gz as the starting point.

What a shame, GitPan is just a bunch of release updates, but no history at all :/.
Yeah, I think creating an empty repo and pushing the code to it is just fine.
But hey, you can take the -perl suffix from the repo name/url, consider we're already a Perl org :D.

Ah. My bad. The Debian package has that name and at my $JOB we make the source repos match the debian package names.

No worries :) I don't really understand why debian adds -perl suffix. I always used other distros non Debian-based and later worked in a company of a different distro that only used these suffixes for libraries/modules of that specific language.
