Summary

Create a curated OHW tutorial set using previous + OHW22 repos/recordings for folks to have for either spinning up an OHW event or making it a self-guided course. This is likely a long-running project beyond OHW22.

Specific tasks

Initial task list:

• improve the current draft list in the curated branch under ohw-tutorials, in terms of categories and organization
• select "the best" (also consider whether things are up to date) recording and corresponding notebooks
• consolidate, organize, and link selected tutorials in the curated branch (need to figure out exact strategy)
• create an environment based on packages required for all curated notebooks
• create consolidated access points OHW18 and OHW19 tutorials (since they were in more dispersed form as individual repos, instead of all tutorials in a single repo for OHW20-22)

Data sets and infrastructure support

For self-guided course: figure out a strategy for providing computing platform using binder or OHW-supported JupyterHub depending on computing resources needed and balancing costs.

For folks to host an OHW: provide instructions for folks to spin up a JupyterHub if they want to run an OHW and have some resources are available

Also @cjolson64 was interested in an indexing project on all of the github repositories/projects done in the past to see what others have proposed and worked on over the years, that might be a good add in here. And @sdiggs as well.

Yes, I think that making distinctions between repositories meant to be tutorials and resources versus repositories that are actual participant projects would help a lot with organizing this. I believe the easiest way to do this would be to add "topics" and maybe tags to the repositories. I don't know who would have access to do this across all OHW repositories.
