Adopting the NiPreps Governance Model

The NiPreps Community needs some governance model to specify how the different components of the community should interact, provide mechanisms to resolve conflicts and move projects forward under challenging circumstances.

In 2021, we initiated the nipreps/GOVERNANCE project, seeded by GitHub's Minimally Viable Governance (MVG). The README file contains some basic explanation of how the MVG structures governance and how this proposal adapts that to the NiPreps use-case.

When voting, please remember that this is a minimally viable implementation for governance. We need to approve it so that the first NiPreps Steering Committee (NSC) can be selected.

Once both elections are finished, the NSC's responsibility is to maintain this governance model and continue adapting it to the community by exchanging and contributing in pull-requests submitted by anyone (no matter their involvement in the community).

Once this poll is finished, and if the simple majority of Yes/No votes (i.e., discarding abstentions) is Yes, we will create the first tag and release the nipreps/GOVERNANCE repository.
