S&F - Not available on this channel

I have looked through the discord thread on this subject without any luck.

I have a v 2.5.13 running on a raspberry pi with

device role - client
store and forward - true
heartbeat - true
records - 0
history return max - 50
history return window - 300
server - true

I have a t-echo running 2.5.11
the Pi shows with a lock symbol in the node list which should mean that keys have been exchanged

However, when I send a "SF" message to DIRECTLY to the Pi I get "S&F - Not available on this channel"

What am I missing?

You can't use store and forward on the default channel and flood the pubic mesh

I thought that sending a direct message got around that?
Both nodes share a encrypted channel... tired sending the SF over that ... didn't do anything
Do you have to remove the default long fast channel or make it secondary

Nope, no way around it on the public channel

You really need to use a different frequency slot and a private channel

OK figured out what that means...
You have to remove the default channel completely...
Thought sending a DM was in effect a private channel
