I have a curiosity that I can't clear up. First of all, I'm just leaving AMS, I hope you're patient.

My question is what screen resolution and bitrate does the viewer receive for certain?

1. In the case of playlist Vdo will be the size of the video that I upload or AMT transcodes it

2. In case of transmitting from OBS Studio, do you take the output and bitrate of the program?

Finally, is it adaptive to the viewer's connection? I hope you can share your experience, thank you

The resolution and bitrate the viewer receives depend on whether transcoding is enabled on the Ant Media Server and the available playback stream (adaptive or not). AMS supports adaptive bitrate streaming (ABR) using HLS or WebRTC.

If ABR is enabled, AMS transcodes the incoming stream into multiple resolutions and bitrates. Viewers receive the most appropriate quality based on their device capabilities and internet speed.

If ABR is not enabled, viewers receive the original stream's resolution and bitrate as provided by the broadcaster.

2. In the case of playlist Vdo will be the size of the video that I upload or AMT transcodes it?

If you use AMS to play a playlist, the videos in the playlist will be streamed at their original size unless transcoding is explicitly enabled. When transcoding is enabled, AMS will create multiple renditions of the video in different resolutions and bitrates, making it adaptive for different viewers.

3. In case of transmitting from OBS Studio, do you take the output and bitrate of the program?

Yes, AMS receives the stream from OBS Studio as it is configured. Whatever output resolution, bitrate, and codec settings you configure in OBS are passed to AMS. If transcoding is enabled on AMS, it can adjust the stream into different renditions for ABR. If transcoding is not enabled, AMS simply relays the original OBS stream to the viewers.

4. Is it adaptive to the viewer's connection?

Yes, AMS is adaptive to the viewer's connection when adaptive bitrate streaming is configured. With ABR, viewers with high-speed connections will automatically receive high-quality streams, while those with slower connections will receive lower-quality streams. This is handled dynamically by AMS if transcoding is enabled and configured to generate multiple renditions.

Thank you for your response, but everything you just mentioned must be the paid version, why if I check the community version do I not see the ABR configuration anywhere on the panel or where it is?
